Professional Licensure Disclosures

Licensure Track Programs

The 2019 Department of Education Higher Education Rule 34 CFR 668.43 requires that Loyola University New Orleans provide published professional licensure disclosures by state for all Loyola licensure track programs regardless of modality.

  • A list of all states for which the institution has determined its curriculum meets the State educational requirements for licensure or certification.
  • A list of all States for which the institution has determined that its curriculum does not meet the State educational requirements for licensure.
  • A list of all States for which the institution has not made a determination.

All of Loyola’s licensure or certification tack programs curriculum meets State of Louisiana educational requirements for licensure or certification and/or prepares students to take a Louisiana licensing exam. Determination outside of Louisiana varies by program. Follow the link to search Loyola licensure track programs state information.

Loyola faculty and staff will make a good faith effort to assist you in ascertaining the state requirements and any reciprocity agreements for a state outside of Louisiana. If you wish to return to your home state or move to another state after successful completion of your degree program and/or obtaining your Louisiana State license/certification, you will be governed by the rules and regulations of the relevant State professional licensing board where you wish to practice.

Relocating during the course of a program to another state may impact state licensure requirements, access to practicums, and/or federal financial aid. Prior to considering relocation, please contact your program to discuss the potential impact for your individual situation.

The 2019 Department of Education Higher Education Rule also requires that Loyola make individual written disclosures related to professional licensure. Loyola will do this via email. You will receive a disclosure: (1) if Loyola has been able to determine for the state where you are located that the program you are applying to or enrolling in does not meet State requirements for professional licensure or certification, or (2) that Loyola has not made a determination for the state where you are located that the program meets State requirements, for professional licensure or certification.

Additionally, we encourage out-of-state students to contact the appropriate licensing board or agency where you are located to familiarize yourself with the state educational and other licensing requirements for the profession or occupation that you are interested in.
